1. Introduction

Welcome to Cafecito Spanish ("cafecitospanish.com", "the Site", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Cafecito Spanish is operated by Web Ventures Ltd (New Zealand). The Site publishes short daily Spanish lessons, downloadable guides and phrasebooks, lesson notes, and a free email newsletter for people learning Spanish. These terms cover all features and services on the Site, including any paid guides we may introduce in future.

2. Eligibility

The Site's lessons and guides are general-audience learning material, open to learners of all ages — including school students. Browsing the Site and using our materials has no age requirement.

To subscribe to the email newsletter (which is also how the free guide is delivered by email) you must be at least 13 years of age. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to subscribe on your behalf. By subscribing, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. The Newsletter and the Free Guide

You may subscribe to the Cafecito Spanish newsletter through the sign-up forms on the Site. When you subscribe:

• We send you a confirmation email and ask you to confirm your subscription before any further email is sent (double opt-in).
• Once you confirm, we send you the link to our free guide and a short series of welcome emails, followed by occasional lessons, tips and updates.
• Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. You can stop receiving email from us at any time.

The newsletter and the free guide are provided free of charge, and we may pause, change or discontinue them at any time.

4. Licence to Use Our Free Guides and Downloads

When you download a free guide, phrasebook or other resource from the Site, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own private, non-commercial language learning. You may print a copy for your own use and refer to it on your own devices.

You may not resell, redistribute, republish, or share the file publicly, use it in paid teaching, coaching or course materials, or remove any notice of ownership from it, without our written permission.

5. No Guarantee of Learning Outcomes

Our lessons and guides are educational resources. Learning a language depends on many personal factors, including how much you practise and the time you put in. We do not promise or guarantee fluency, any particular level, exam result, or outcome, and we make no claim that you will reach a given standard within any specific timeframe. Any levels we mention (for example CEFR labels such as A1 to C2) describe the content of a lesson, not a promise about your progress.

6. Our Lessons, Guides and Other Content

All content on the Site — including lessons, videos, guides, phrasebooks, articles, illustrations, the presenter characters and their names, logos, and software — is owned by Web Ventures Ltd or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may:

• Use our lessons and guides for your own personal, non-commercial learning
• Share links to pages on the Site

You may not:

• Reproduce our lessons, guides, articles or media on another website, app, product or publication without our written permission
• Scrape, crawl or systematically extract content from the Site
• Use our content to train machine-learning models without our written permission

7. Affiliate Links and External Websites

Some links on the Site, and in our emails, are affiliate links — including links to language-learning services such as italki. If you follow one of these links and take an action such as booking a lesson, we may earn a commission. This never changes the price you pay, and we only suggest services we would genuinely recommend to a learner. Full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.

The Site may also link to other external websites we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of third-party sites, and following an external link is at your own risk.

8. Paid Guides and Payment (future)

We may introduce paid guides, phrasebooks or audio bundles in future. When we do:

• Payment and delivery will be handled by an external checkout provider (such as Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy), which acts as the seller or merchant of record for that purchase.
• We will not store your full card number or bank details; those are handled by the checkout provider.
• The price, contents and any refund terms will be shown clearly before you pay, on the provider's checkout.

Until paid guides are introduced, all content on the Site is free.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
• Scrape, crawl or systematically extract content from the Site
• Subscribe to the newsletter using an email address that is not yours
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls or security measures
• Interfere with the operation of the Site or with other people's use of it
• Submit false, misleading or abusive content through our forms

We may suspend or remove access, or remove subscribers, where these terms are breached.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Site and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or completely secure.

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, Web Ventures Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site, including in relation to your learning results or reliance on any lesson or guide.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under New Zealand law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

11. Changes to the Site and to These Terms

We may change, add to or remove parts of the Site at any time. We may also update these Terms of Use from time to time; the updated terms will be posted on the Site with a new effective date. Continued use of the Site or continued newsletter subscription after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Site or unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. We may suspend or end your access to the Site, or remove you from the newsletter, if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the Site.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
